Best Nicotine Pouches? How to Compare Them
"Best" depends on what you want from a pouch, and pouches differ in only a handful of ways. This guide lays those out so you can compare any two products on the same terms. We don't rank brands, and we don't say any pouch is safer or healthier than another. Nicotine is addictive at every strength.
1. Strength
The mg number is the nicotine in each pouch, and brands don't all measure or round it the same way, so treat it as an approximation when comparing across brands. A higher number means more nicotine per pouch, not a better pouch. Our strength guide explains how the labeling works.
Among products with an FDA marketing granted order, the ranges are: on! at 2mg and 4mg, ZYN at 3mg and 6mg, on! PLUS at 6mg and 9mg, and ZYN ULTRA at 9mg (11mg in one flavor).
2. Flavor family
Most flavors fall into a few families: mint (Cool Mint, Spearmint, Wintergreen, Peppermint, Menthol), citrus, coffee, cinnamon and fruit, plus mild, near-unflavored options such as Smooth and Chill. 3. Format and size
Mini and slim are the two pouch sizes. According to FDA's order documents, a core ZYN pouch weighs 0.40 grams and measures about 28 by 14 millimeters, while an on! pouch is 0.26 grams at about 24 by 14 millimeters. The higher-strength lines are larger: a ZYN ULTRA pouch is 0.8 grams at about 34 by 14.5 millimeters, and an on! PLUS pouch is 0.714 grams at about 27.5 by 10.5 millimeters.
4. Moisture
Dry pouches release flavor and nicotine more gradually; moist pouches release faster and feel softer. Core ZYN and core on! are dry. ZYN ULTRA and on! PLUS are moist. 5. FDA status
Only some products hold an FDA marketing granted order, and authorization is specific to a flavor and strength. It is not an approval and not a safety claim.
